As like any other Monday; tonight on That Time Of Night, we’ve got another comedian in the studio. He’s the only Malaysian comic who prides himself on lowering the vulgarity of his jokes and strangely enough, according to the Malaysian Guiness Book Of Records, the first comedian to perform on a flight, Andrew Netto!
Born and raised in Petaling Jaya, Andrew grew with a father who was sharp and quick-witted for him to learn to the ropes of one-liners. But it is only in school where his funny bone was honed. A particular event was an annual dinner at his school. Andrew’s batch realised they didn’t had a performing item for the evening, so they just threw Andrew on stage for his well-known impersonation of his teachers. Left everyone in stitches of course!
His foray into stand up comedy was sparked by a family tragedy. A cousin’s bucket list included stand up comedy on it, Andrew soon got a DVD copy of Russell Peters and wanted to do it too. His hard work paid off remarkably when during Peter’s Notorious World Tour 2012, he met up with Andrew and asked him to open his set.
Currently, Andrew is still up and strong on stage, doing public and corporate gigs.
