Are Malaysians an Unhappy Lot?

Published in the  South China Morning Post, an opinion piece by the regionally syndicated columnist, has pushed buttons over the expression “optimism deficit” . Are we an overly critical and negative lot, or are some people burying their heads in the sand while the country sinks? Today we look at both optimistic and pessimistic points of view and whether the twain will ever meet.
