Malaysia is one of the major oil palm players on the international stage. In 2017,the Malaysian palm oil industry saw RM 75 billion in export earnings. However, with the most recent European Union ban on palm oil,  the sector is now facing uncertainties in its future ahead. The main contention to palm oil is the environmental consequences of its production processes.
