Prisons - Breeding Grounds for Infection?

Health Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah revealed this week, that one Covid-19 case has been detected within the Sungai Buloh prison population. While the Health Ministry has now commenced screenings of the more than 800 inmates and 700 employees, the case has raised important questions over whether our prison system could potentially withstand a Covid-19 outbreak. For more insight, we speak to Dr. Tharani Loganathan, of the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine, at Universiti Malaya.
