As part of Star Media's larger efforts to diversify away from its declining print segment, the launch of its first over-the-top (OTT) content platform 'Dimsum' may be a catalyst for growth - how much exactly would still depend on its cost structure and execution. Its subsidiary, SGX-listed Cityneon Holdings which owns global rights to Marvel's 'Avengers' franchise, will also play a larger role to the group with future exhibitions in the pipeline. Dividend payouts are expected to be sustained, as it still has a net cash balance of RM337m as at 1H'16.
