After disappointing in December, the market is hopeful that the ECB will send a stronger signal on easing in tonight's meeting. They will also have to deal with how to manage a Brexit fallout and possible fiscal trouble brewing in Portugal.

In the meantime, after all that talk of a slowdown, investors are still surprised by ugly trade numbers coming out of China.
