It has been a year since tragedy struck Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 as it was shot out of Ukrainian skies. While the investigation report is being finalised Malaysia, has joined calls addressed to the UN Security Council to establish an international criminal tribunal to try those responsible. We discuss how realisable the hopes for this tribunal are, and if the case of MH17 is better framed within the larger question of civilian aircraft safety over conflict zones.
