The actions of populist leaders have recently dominated the global headlines. These charismatic leaders use anti-establishment sentiments to mobilize large numbers of people to gain and hold power, often at the expense of human rights and civil liberties.
Today on Current Affairs, we explore the recently published World Report 2017 by Human Rights Watch, focusing on how populist leaders are affecting human rights in the ASEAN region.
