In December, the government unveiled a new fuel pricing mechanism to ensure prices at the pump mirror global crude oil prices. Consumers are benefitting from the current low prices, but petrol dealers are not keen on the system, as it leaves them at a significant disadvantage. We explore how the float works and how dealers are affected, especially with the impending Goods and Services Tax.
