Media, Politics, and Press Freedom

In early November, Brunei Times, the second largest English newspaper in Brunei, was abruptly ordered by the government to cease operations. This is seen to be part of the rise in government’s restrictions against the freedom of the media, especially in Southeast Asia.

BFM explores the current condition of media freedom in the region and how significant is the role of media in politics.

This is a report by Emir Zainul.
