In past cases and experience, it was not a viable option for single moms to track down their missing ex-husbands and force them to pay alimony fee. Either due to practical reasons of not wanting to waste money or insufficient money to hire a personal investigator. However, things are different now with the help of the Family Support Division (Bahagian Sokongan Keluarga) under the Malaysian Syariah Judiciary Department. We spoke to a representative from the Syariah Court's Family Support Division and a single mother who has engaged in the service to find out more.
