The Marathon des Sables (MdS, “Marathon of the Sands”) is a six-day ultra marathon run over a course of 251 km. Ranked by the Discovery Channel as the “toughest footrace on earth”, MdS takes place every year in the brutal environment of the Moroccan Sahara Desert.
Two courageous Malaysians, Jeff Lau and Ralph Dixon will participate in the 29th edition of the MdS that will be held from 4 to 14 April 2014 and along the way help to raise funds for underprivileged women and children with HIV.
In 2010 they managed to raise over RM100,000 for the MAF doing the same gruelling race due to the very kind support of number of sponsors and some very generous individuals.
We spoke with both Ralph and Jeff, alongside the honorary Secretary of the Malaysian AIDS council Hisham Bin Hussein.
