Businesses are facing a conundrum with their ever-expanding digital universe. In a competitive environment mired with mergers and divestitures, the ability to store, manage and protect data is crucial to business success. By 2017, two-thirds of Asian-based CIOs will initiate a data transformation and governance framework to turn information into a competitive business differentiator. This explosion of data is a double-edged sword. If managed well, data can actually become a strategic asset to bring huge benefits to companies however this can also cause inefficiencies that results in businesses lagging behind competitors.
