On 6 November 2012, A BI54 flight from Melbourne landed in Brunei International Airport; at the controls were Sharifah Czarena Suriany Syed Hashim – the successful completion of this flight marked the final stage in the command training process for then Senior First Officer Sharifah Czarena; she became the first female airline captain in both Brunei and Southeast Asia.
