The major floods that hit the country at the end of last year and early this year resulted in losses amounting to RM6.1bilion. But in a country where there is so much rain, why is it that until now - we still haven’t figured out the root of the problem and dealt with it? We speak with Shuhana Shamsuddin, President of the Malaysian Urban Design Association (Perekabandar) about the many factors that can lead to flash flooding and get her opinion on some mitigation measures.
