In May, KWAP or Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan) announced Dana Pemacu, a Malaysia-focused RM6 billion private equity fund aimed at boosting private capital investment in the country.
In a bid to catalyse the private market investment ecosystem in Malaysia, Dana Pemacu will be executed through Separately Managed Account (SMA) funds where we will see the creation of partnership models between local and international fund managers across three different asset classes: Private Equity, Infrastructure, and Real Estate.
Today Enterprise Explores Dana Pemacu with Saifulbahri Hassan, the Director of Private Equity at KWAP. We will dive into the fund’s aims and strategy, as well as the rationale behind the focus on supporting and attempting to elevate local fund managers instead of simply focusing on the biggest and best ones with track histories and experience.
