After months of closure due to MCO 2.0, cinemas nationwide will be allowed to reopen on March 5 and resume business. This comes on the verge of a few big cinematic releases that should help with revenue. Furthermore, Malaysia’s largest cinema chain operator, GSC, has acquired the country’s third largest player, MBO Cinemas, after the latter filed for liquidation in 2020.
