Protecting Children in the World’s Most Dangerous Places

Somalia’s high incidence of sexual violence and an estimated 6,000 child soldiers are just two in a long list of issues requiring urgent attention. Sheema Sen Gupta is the chief of UNICEF’s Child Protection Programme in Somalia. We ask Sheema, who is one of only seven Malaysians working for UNICEF worldwide, about her work advocating, influencing and negotiating for the rights of vulnerable children and women.
