Does PEMULIH Adequately Help Vulnerable Women?

As we all know, the Covid-19 pandemic isn’t just a health crisis, but indirectly contributes to a whole host of other issues, including the rise of domestic violence and abuse. Many studies have found that women are one of the groups that are exponentially affected by the pandemic. And on a separate note, the government announced a new aid package called PEMULIH a short while back. But does PEMULIH address the specific issues faced by women during this pandemic?

Abinaya Mohan, Head of Campaign, WAO and working committee of the Gender Budget Group, joins us to discuss.
