The past decade have been good for private education in Malaysia. Foreign ownership restrictions were lifted, quotas on local student enrollment were removed and international schools were given tax incentives to open local branch campuses. However, with so many players entering this space, concerns of expensive education worsening social inequality and the government promising to improve national schools, we hear from Nicki Coombs from Beaconhouse Malaysia on how she intends to keep her schools relevant.
