Along with the declaration of the state of emergency for Malaysia, a related development was the announcement by the Prime Minister that emergency ordinances can be enacted to cover the use of private hospital assets to deal with the pandemic. On the heels of that, a lot of other issues have been raised regarding the role of private hospitals in testing and treating COVID-19 patients. We speak to Datuk Dr Kuljit Singh, President, Association of Private Hospitals Malaysia, to find out where private hospitals have been, and what they can do, in the fight against COVID-19.
