Guest: Rajat Khosla, Director, United Nations University International Institute for Global Health
“The enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of health is one of the fundamental rights of every human being without distinction of race, religion, political belief, economic or social condition." - Excerpt from the World Health Organization’s Constitution
It only takes a look around our own country, sometimes no further than our own communities, to see that there are far too many people falling ill who shouldn’t, and far too many whose health needs are not being provided for. As crises and conflicts deepen worldwide, there are concerns that the fundamental right to health will only be increasingly eroded. To strike a hopeful note for the year, we speak to Rajat Khosla, Director of the United Nations University International Institute for Global Health (UNU-IIGH), for his reflections on the need to rethink and reimagine human rights in global health.
