Neurons play a crucial role in how we move, behave, and essentially, how we live. And genes play a big role in neurological functions - and disorders. However, we now have the technology to identify specific genes that are linked to some of these diseases. In this first episode of our neuroscience series, we are joined by a scientist involved in this work, Neurogeneticist Dr Azlina Ahmad Annuar. Here she discusses the genetic causes behind neurological diseases such as Parkinson’s in Malaysians, and also her involvement with the community outreach organisation “Jeans for Genes”.
