Freedom Index - Our Failing Grade?

Malaysia is currently at 147th in the Press Freedom Index, the country's lowest position in the rankings since its inception in 2002. While the Reporters Without Borders index does not measure the quality of journalism or human rights violations, it does not paint a rosy picture of the local media landscape. Veteran journalists Shanon and Dan feature in this discussion of the current state of the media here, the challenges faced by journalists and media organisations, as well as how reporting shapes our perception of the truth.

This is a report by Nadiah Aziz.
