Scene muzik underground Malaysia dan Asia Tenggara bukanlah sesuatu yang boleh dipandang enteng. Sumbangannya kepada dunia muzik dan “subculture” moden adalah amat besar. Tetapi, apakah usaha yang dilakukan, untuk memastikan perjalanan dan gerakan ini sentiasa diingati dan dijadikan contoh, baik untuk kenangan ataupun kajian? Menyedari kurangnya usaha tersebut, Joe Kidd, gitaris band punk Carburetor Dung dan seorang yang telah lama berkecimpung dalam scene underground ini, mewujudkan The Ricecooker Archives. Matlamatnya: mewujudkan satu arkib Rock and Roll Malaysia dan Asia Tenggara, untuk rujukan dan kajian bersama.
