Following the decision to detain, and subsequently release, several Cambodian opposition leaders, the Malaysian government has been subject to criticism for its interpretation of the ASEAN principle of 'non-interference'. For a better understanding of the deportation process and how this latest issue fits into the broader landscape of ASEAN politics, we speak to Oh Ei Sun, Senior Fellow at the Singapore Institute of International Affairs.
