Projek BacaBaca: Reading Coaches For Underserved Children

Projek BacaBaca began two years ago with the aim of closing the learning poverty gap and improving reading performance for young children from underserved urban and rural communities around Malaysia. Since then, what has its impact been, and how has the initiative developed? We talk to Hema Letchamanan, Project Leader for Projek BacaBaca and Senior Lecturer at the School of Education at Taylor’s University, along with Zarina Abdul Hamid, a parent of one of the project’s beneficiaries.
