The upcoming polls may be for the six states, but Perikatan Nasional has been framing the state elections as a referendum on the federal government - for instance, PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has said that a victory for PN candidates would send a clear message of disapproval toward the governing coalition.
