Riau Sari: Ghost Story for the Stage

Having adapted an Indonesian folklore for the stage, the writer and founder of a theatre company takes on a Thai ghost-story. And as in the first case, Anwar Rusdini has tweaked the tale to suit local circumstances and to highlight issues in the community. The director and the performer Wan Siti Haniza detail some of the challenges and getting the language and the movements right for a play that is set during the Japanese Occupation of Malaya.
